Angie's Story

After graduating in May of 2014 with a Masters of Science in Meteorology from Florida Institute of Technology Angie began her career in broadcasting as the weekend Meteorologist at Fox 26 Saint Joseph, Missouri.

Angie grew up in Fraser Michigan, a small town community located on the outskirts of Detroit. As part of a strong athletic program in Fraser, Angie spent a lot of time playing competitive volleyball throughout the Midwest which earned her a full scholarship from Florida Institute of Technology. FIT's highly regarded meteorology program was exactly what Angie had hoped for. She grew up around the Great Lakes and its unique lake-affect weather helped her develop a strong interest in meteorology.

Although Angie is a scientist she feels the rise of extreme weather has highlighted a need for more educated voices in the field of broadcast meteorology. She hopes to utilize the TV weather platform to have a positive impact in the community and to play a critical role in providing clear, invaluable, and trusted information throughout her career.

During the six years Angie attended Florida Institute of Technology she co-authored a chapter in the book titled Climate Change and Regional/Local Responses, she was a part of a scientific research team, a collegiate athlete, two year team captain and a college instructor. Angie is self-motivated, effective at building camaraderie and partnering with others to overcome challenges and meet objectives. She is organized, outgoing and finds great satisfaction in accomplishing what she sets out to do.

Angie loves the beach, taking photos, traveling, unique adventures and beautiful clothes but most of all Angie loves people. She is extremely calm under pressure, and has a positive outlook on everything. Angie hopes to inspire others to be fearless in life, to try new things, and to have fun doing it.
Most of her time away from the station is spent with her family or traveling the world.
